“If our lives are dominated by a search for happiness,
then perhaps few activities reveal as much about the dynamics of this quest – in
all its ardour and paradoxes – than our travels” (Alain de Botton, The art of Travel). Maybe the real reason
for the post holiday syndrome (the blues when back from vacation) is that we
don’t know how to translate the holiday happiness into a hapiness of our daily
life? Or is it that we actually didn’t find such a happiness when travelling,
but only a seeming happiness?
