Random quote
Writing is the concrete activity that consists in constructing, on its own, blank space – the page – a text that has power over the exteriority from which it first has been isolated.
Michel de Certeau (1925-1986)

Authoring random quotes was once a hobby. I kept a journal of those nuggets and added new ones as they materialized. By the time my interests expanded to blog philosophy, I had realized that no matter how clever or profound my creations were, they would never amount to much because it was improbable that I would be either rich. Or famous. So, I stopped, and, that journal was left behind in another place and time. Now and then, I still produce a quip or two. The last one reads as follows: try harder to think better. Do the best you can with what you have and know. It was originally longer but that excess was word salad---non-essential rhetoric---much like what is prepared by many modern public intellectuals. The blog venue and exchange of ideas is more fun, anyway.
