Random quote
Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness.

George Orwell (1903-1950)

I think that is right. I only tried to write a book once. Decided it was just too much work for too little reward. I used to read twenty books per year and had a library running account of what my two or three year tally was worth. I saved lots of money and read as much as I could. But, it got to be time consuming after I began to write my own philosophic essays. Now, writing is the focus---reading is a break from work. I am an autodidact and learned much from reading. A good friend has called me polymath. That is generous, and he is kind.

My experience of writing books, articles and also these blogs are like Orwell's. I read also a lot myself. I just need it for getting inspiration and finding themes for these blogs, for instance.
