Random quote
Human feeling becomes indignant when brutal and brute trade measures are taken against innocent nations, purely for their own gain, so that such nations are actually sacrificed.
Johann Gottfried Herder (1744-1803)

Timely. I don't worry much about the abilities of trade powers to take care of themselves.Where I live, of course, the populous thinks the rest of the world owes them a living. Arrogance begets foolishness. Sure.

That is right, Henk. Before us, there was no such notion as context. In fact, there were no notions at all...only pre-sapient beings who got by via their wits and instincts...not yet conscious, yet, aware...doing the best they could. I hope to grow a few tomatoes, this summer...and continue to read and write some philosophy. Warmest regards, PDV.

I must say that trade measures have led already to many wars in the past. The same for me: I am also growing tomatoes, reading a lot of philosophy (in the end I need inspiration for these blogs) and I write besides writing these blogs also other stuff. Best wishes, HbdW.

If you are interested, see my remark on A Philosophers Blog. He is a Professor of Philosophy, in Tallahassee, Florida. LaBossier is the name, I think. Anyhow, I comment there often, as do a few others. My remarks were submitted today, under the recent post on religion. Professor LaBossier writes well. I respect that. I would feel uncomfortable, teaching PHILOSOPHY in Florida...Seems to be a contradiction of terms.

Thank you Paul. I'll take a look there. The situation of the US universities is discussed here even in the public media. Like today Havard.
